The Schaeferville Fire Protection District will receive sealed bids under Solicitation 26-0001, issued October 8, 2026, for fourteen complete 4,500 psi SCBA units, each with one facepiece and two 45-minute quick-connect cylinders, and two rapid intervention air-supply packs, each with one 60-minute quick-connect cylinder. The procurement includes fit-testing support, training, warranties, and related equipment and services. All furnished SCBA and RIT cylinders must use the same manufacturer-provided quick-connect cylinder attachment and be interchangeable among the furnished equipment. If needed to fill the supplied cylinders at the District’s two existing conventional CGA fill stations, the contractor must include two complete approved fill whips, adapters, or charging assemblies at no additional cost. Bids must be received at 293 Herman St, Pekin, IL 61554 no later than November 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Central Time. Bids received after that time will not be accepted. Bids must be enclosed in a sealed package marked “SEALED BID SCBA EQUIPMENT - DO NOT OPEN” and identify Solicitation 26-0001, the bidder, and the deadline. Submit one signed original, two copies, and one electronic copy on a USB drive. Electronic or facsimile bids will not be accepted unless permitted by written District addendum.
Bids will be publicly opened and their contents announced on November 2, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. during the regular Board meeting at the Schaeferville Fire Protection District fire station, 1501 Hillview Drive, Pekin, Illinois 61554. Bid documents may be obtained at SchaefervilleFire.com/bids or by contacting William Reis at chief@schaefervillefire.com. Requests for approval of an equivalent product must be submitted in writing by October 19, 2026. Other questions must be submitted in writing by October 21, 2026. The target date for District responses and the final planned addendum is October 23, 2026. Only written addenda issued by the District may modify the solicitation.
This procurement is funded in part under FY 2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant EMW-2025-FG-07264 and is subject to 2 CFR Part 200, the FEMA award terms, and Illinois law. The District will award to the responsive and responsible bidder meeting every mandatory requirement with the lowest verified Evaluated Bid Price: Base Bid Total plus verified 15-Year Lifecycle Cost. Separately priced optional features are excluded. Evaluation will not use subjective weighted scoring. After the November 2 public opening, the Board may make a conditional award to the apparent low evaluated bidder, subject to documented review of responsiveness, responsibility, technical compliance, bid arithmetic, lifecycle costs, funding, and grant compliance. No contract, purchase order, delivery authorization, or notice to proceed may issue until all required conditions are satisfied and confirmed in writing. The complete IFB controls.
