The Schaeferville Fire Protection District, located in Pekin, Illinois, was founded in 1962 and initially contracted with the City of Pekin for fire protection services. In 1967, the department began responding from a two-bay station at 1501 Hillview Drive.
Originally focused on fire suppression, the department expanded into medical response in the 1990s and today operates as a first responder agency providing medical care within Schaeferville and supporting surrounding volunteer districts.
