Equipment Donations

The Schaeferville Fire Protection is a non-profit government organization serving the unincorporated areas of Pekin.

While the department attempts to provide all tools needed for medical and firefighting activity, our operating budget is $40k per year. Most of this budget is used for fuel, and replacement of statutorily required equipment. Our 100% volunteer staff often pays for classes and certifications at their own expense.

Fundraising occurs throughout the year to help support events such as our annual Halloween Open House and Marigold Festival Kids Experience. We also use fundraising to replace or purchase equipment that is not covered under our current operating budget.

We have two fundraising drives running currently, one for equipment and one for our Halloween Open House.

Halloween Open House – Our open house provides a safe environment for children to get candy and also see our equipment. To donate to our Halloween event please click here.

Our current pagers are failing at a faster rate than which we can replace them under our current budget. Pagers are used to notify members of calls for service, and are required for ISO credit which affects insurance rates. (What is ISO?) We are currently using a phone application for those members who do not have pagers, however, this is not 100% reliable, and does not meet requirements for credit. To donate towards our pager fund please click here.
